“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” (Hebrews 11:6, NIV)
When God is first place in your life, and you make pleasing Him your highest priority, then you can fully expect to live a blessed, fulfilled life! In today’s verse, notice who God rewards. It’s not people who half-heartedly seek Him. It doesn’t say “people who only think about Him when they’re having a problem;” or “people who will only come to church when something special is going on.” No, God rewards people who earnestly seek after Him. That means we are determined. We get up every morning and thank Him for His goodness. We go through the day meditating on His promises. We give Him praise in the good times and the tough times. We are constantly stretching, growing, learning and striving to know Him better.
Today, remember, when you diligently seek God, He promises that a reward is coming. He promises He will give you strength, wisdom, favor, good breaks, promotion, healing and restoration. When you seek Him with your whole heart, you will find Him, and you won’t be able to outrun His goodness and blessing!
18. Stop holding grudges.
– Don’t live your life with hate in your heart. You will end up hurting yourself more than the people you hate. Forgiveness is not saying, “What you did to me is okay.” It is saying, “I’m not going to let what you did to me ruin my happiness forever.” Forgiveness is…

A lot of people, even some of my friends, don’t know how much I’ve been going through lately. Along with this certain adversity comes a landslide of other problems - financial, emotional, and most importantly, spiritual. But I guess I do a good job at masking my problems since I practically appear problem-free and most people would still say I live a perfect life.
Please. I find it amusing how some people sometimes describe my life as perfect. I would say I am a pretty strong and self-sufficient person. I like to look at life as a series of lessons that hones me as a person. Also, I always like to think that the glass is half full instead of half empty. What doesn’t kill me only makes me stronger.
But get this, I wasn’t always optimistic. Not so long ago, I worry about anything and everything. How the schedule I planned for my day is out of sync. How maybe possibly I did badly on that test. I sometimes even worry about matters I completely have no control over. How gas prices are too high. How that one girl is wearing the exact same shirt I have on omg!
Until a certain event made me realize how much I worry and how much worry can consume me. First of all, worrying accomplishes absolutely nothing. I realized that worrying won’t help me solve my problem or bring about a solution, so why waste time on it? Also, worrying is the opposite of trusting God. Instead of wasting my time worrying, why don’t I pray instead? Worrying takes away our focus from God. When our hearts are only focused on God, we see that we really have nothing to worry about. Because He has a wonderful plan for us, and all our needs are already met even before we realize we need them.
Even in the most difficult times of our lives, when it seems like God doesn’t care or you’re questioning if He exists at all, just have faith and trust Him. Because He’s already promised us His kingdom and eternal life and all these worldly problems will soon pass. I mean, He gave us his son Jesus Christ didn’t he?
In one of the darkest moments of my life, a particular passage struck me, which I think everyone should hear just to be reminded of God’s love for us.
Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor father into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to her stature?
So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not to arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
- Matthew 6:25-34, NKJV
I wasn’t planning on blogging, but inspiration just hit during my quiet time :) And there’s just seriously a lot going on in my life right now. I have no idea how to solve them or even where to start… so I’m just keeping my head up, continuing to smile, and lifting it all up to God because I know He’s the only one who can help me with it. God is good. Truly.
